Honestly, this doesn’t do anything but annoy the shit out of everyone driving next to you. Definitely not impressive. Just sayin’.
Hacksaw the muffler off and have a muffler shop make a extension. Now raise hell,it`s fun.I used to run straight pipes on a street bike.Man it was cool and it raised my horse power some how.I made them myself from pipe I bought at the muffler shop.I did have a torch to weld them though.
I don’t care whether you care or not. Grow up, and leave the exhaust alone: Honda built it right in the first place. If you want it louder, add a bell or a horn–or you could play a kazoo while riding the thing.
Drill off the rivets on your can at the “tip” end. Then cut about 2 – 3 inches off the inner pipe. This will give you what you are aiming for! Plus it will give you a slightly “meatier” bottom end! Don’t worry about the critics, Loud Pipes Save Lives!!!
just take the complete exhaust system off-you dont need it,the chicks will dig you-and you will be super cool-who cares what other people think?
Two things. First, if you change the airflow in the intake and/or exhaust you will need to re-jet because it will “mess with your carb.” And by making your quad louder, that will also increase air-flow…by increasing airflow, you will need more fuel…with that need for more fuel, you will need to re-jet. Pretty much…do anything but stock and you have to re-jet. And taking the baffle out is the cheapest way to make it louder and get some more horsepower. You can also take out the spark arrestor. Then of course you can buy an aftermarket pipe…those can scream. I run an N Motion for my yfz and that thing is around 106 db…it hurts.
Second…if you run a straight pipe, you will blow your motor faster then normal…with these engines there is not enough back-pressure in the motor to keep it “safe” if you will.

just spend the money for a good after market muffler and rejet the carb and change out your air cleaner to a KN filter its worth the money because with a enhanced sound and performance. The sound for me was a added bennefit for the performance i was wanting and recieved from the options i did.
